Ford Mustang Tuning For A Wonderful Driving Experience
If you have a Mustang and you would love to make it more powerful and more aggressive from many aspects, then I guess you will consider Ford Mustang Tuning in a heartbeat. But let us delve into learning more about this muscle car, before getting to change its grandeur.
The 1970 Mustang was on its way for some revenge with the new model Ford has been carving up for this year. This was a very mean machine and it really did do very well in nailing the competition. It did not matter if you were an avid fan of any other super cars out there, this was something that had an aura of its own and just by seeing it you would instantly fall in love with it.
Many people rushed in to buy this new model that Ford has put up for sale because they were convinced by the adds they would see on their TV sets and the fact that more and more people decided to acquire it. It was like a chain reaction that would suck you in like a magnet attracts iron.
The thing was that in 1968 the executive of General Motors, Mister Semon Bunkie Knudsen who was the one behind the Pontiac project regarding the revival of the brand, was now the president of Ford. He also brought some of his assistances with him including Larry Shinoda (a stylist) who worked on the Z28 project which dethroned the 68 and 69 Mustang Trans AM from the winner's throne.
Thus the new Mustang Boss was built in order to be qualified as a Trans AM road racing machine. When it comes to the type of engine this model used, it was the 302 CID V8 which was modified to a higher degree of performance, featuring big port cylinder heads which were also used in the amazing Cleveland 251. Thus the 1970 Ford Mustang used the biggest carburetor which was ever to be designed by Ford and this carburetor was the 780-cfm Holley 4 barrel.
When it comes to how much power this would stack, it was underrated at just 290 BHP, the same as the Z28 302 model. What else came standard with this model was the Hurst shifted 4 speed and also 3.50:1 gears. On top, as optional choices, you could go with the 3.91:1 and Detroit Locker 4.30:1 cogs. The total number of Mustang that were built for this year was stacked around 1628 for 1969 and that number went more than 4 times higher in the next year, reaching 7013 units in 1970. It was of no surprise that this car had such a massive success, that Ford would be remembered for it a very long time.
Nowadays, you can easily improve your Mustang by just taking it to a specialized mechanic and tweaking its suspension, its engine, exhausts and even adding a mean spoiler for more aerodynamics.
