The Fabulous Dodge Challenger

I think that we can all come to a conclusion & say that the 2009 Challenger & the Factory Original Dodge Challenger Rims are pretty nice, even the ones from way back when. Since I'm so fascinated by this car, I wanted to do a little article about how great it really is.

The first generation of the Dodge Challenger was actually a Pony Car that was manufactured from 1970-1974. It used the Chrysler E platform & shared big parts & similar elements with the Barracuda that was produced by Plymouth. There was a second generation that was produced from 1978-1983. This generation of cars were marketed under the Challenger (obviously) & the Mitsubishi Galant Lambda. The final generation, which is the one that we have now, was launched in 2008 and served as a rival to the fifth generation Ford Mustang & the Chevy Camaro. From what I see, the Dodge Challenger & the Dodge Challenger Wheels have nothing on these cars.

If you do some research on the first generation of Dodge Challengers, you'll see that the Dodge Challenger was the "answer to the Mustang & Camaro" in the 1960s. The Challenger & the Barracuda were both available to the consumers in several staggering options. They were also intentionally made to compete against the typical cars like the Chevy Camaro & Ford Mustang. In the late 60s, the Dodge Challenger was viewed as another Chrysler Barracuda; & the Barracuda was designed to go up against the Camaro & the Mustang; therefore, the Dodge Challenger can go up against the Camaro & Mustang.

The name "Challenger" was brought back in 1978 for an early version of the Mitsubishi Galant Lambda. It actually sold through Dodge dealers as something called a "captive import", which pretty much means that it was identical to another car. Even though everything was the same, even the mechanics, the Dodge version was manufactured to emphasize more of a "sporty" look; it had shiny colors with tape stripes. Both of the cars were available for purchase until 1983, they were then replaced with the Conquest & the Daytona.

When December of 2007 rolled around, they started talking about manufacturing the 3rd generation Dodge Challenger & Dodge Challenger Rims . It was the introduced on February 6, 2008. It was built to resemble the first generation Challenger, but with new improvements like having a longer body & including brand new 2008 Dodge Challenger Rims . All of the 2008 & SRT8s models were built with the 6.1 L hemi & a 5-Speed Automatic Transmission .. which means that I can drive it since I have no idea how to drive stick. These were so popular at the time that Dodge pre-sold 6,400 cars, fully equipped with OEM Dodge Challenger Wheels .

If you're looking to buy a brand new 2010 model, just be sure that you know that it will honestly cost you about $515 - $1,010 higher than the 2009 models. Yikes, right? The original color that it was shown in (HEMI Orange) was dropped for their 2010 model year; but was then put back for the same year. There are two new options for color scheme on the 2009 & 2010 Dodge Challenger : "Plum Crazy" & "Detonator Yellow". If I were to get the "Detonator Yellow", I'd probably have the 2009 Dodge Challenger Wheels in Chrome .. just because I think that they look better. There was another new color that's called "Furious Fuchsia" & was released in the February of 2010. Which color would you choose?
